The thesis shows your proficiency in academic research. It demonstrates your mastery of a particular topic by creating scientific knowledge. It further helps to develop critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

    Process of Writing a Thesis

Thesis writing usually progresses according to the following steps:

    1.   Research Topic

The first important step includes the selection of the research paper topics. A person is expected to propose a topic of interest and expertise. Another essential aspect that needs to be kept in mind is the availability of the source material on the selected subject area.

    2.   Review Existing Literature

After the supervisor has accepted the topic, the next step is to gain familiarity with the existing literature. With this, an individual will get an idea about the general picture of the topic, earlier research, leading scholars, and publications. It will also identify the research gaps and the importance of your future contributions in the field.

    3.   Research Proposal

The next step is to process a research proposal. It will contain a title, table of contents, introduction, significance, methodology, research questions, and a literature review. It serves as an outline of your thesis. Some scholars also relate their topic with a scientific theory.

    4.   Organization of the Thesis

A general structure of the  MS thesis is always the same regardless of the topic and the subject area. It includes the following contents:

    • Cover page

    • Abstract

    • Table of contents

    • Introduction

    • Theoretical framework

    • Methodology

    • Data analysis

    • Findings

    • List of references

          5.   Writing Techniques

The writer should know the basics of formal academic writing techniques. It also requires an in-depth knowledge of the correct language and grammar. Vague terms should be avoided. Tables and figures can also be a part of quantitative research.

On the other hand, your thesis must have an appropriate reference to the original sources. Proper citations prevent a person from academic theft called plagiarism. These references will be listed in alphabetical order according to the author’s surnames.
